Title: Faint but pursuing
Author: Bernita
Year: 2010
http://bernitaharris.blogspot.com/
Summary:
The of a woman who receives a particular gift from her friend. She begins identifying some relevant activities of her , such as the numerous email she must erase as well as the strange phrases that would pass though her mind. The text jumps back and forth between these two subjects.
The thing that i most liked was:
I enjoyed this story best because it has a very attractive introduction; it mixes well the rational with the irrational. In her parallel world there are diverse actions, which unravel in a random form.In the context of the story she introduced events of her daily life, of which she provides detail in illogical forms. At the end you can perceive a melancholic woman who enjoys memories.

Summary:
The story is about an old man, who is a musician, who's climbing a hill to get to an old stone seat. He describes everything around him from what he has on his hand all the way to the sea across the valley. He said he has his old wooden flute on his hand. Later he remembers his love and that she played the violin. Then he start comparing every nature sound with music. When he gets to the seat he said that he can hear the music all around him. Then he uses his last breath to paly his flute. At the end we can infer he dies because he said he was reunited with his love.
The thing I liked the most:
What I liked the most about this story is the way the author compares the nature's sound with the sound of the music and how the author uses the music and the term "reunited" to let us know that the character died.

Genre: Sciene Fiction
Literary element chosen: Symbol
At the end of chapter one the scene fades out with the image of two snakes constrickting a cross which brakes while a sword strikes through one of them.
The two snakes symbolize good and evil entangled within the church, while the snake that is striked trough with a sword represents the spritual death of Rodiart as a Christian, and his rebirth as a son of Orisha.
